WoW Item Upgrades
Item upgrades, also referred as "upping" are items or enchantments that boost the stats of armor and weapons. These upgrade components add a number of points to a level gauge for the item, with their costs increasing with their rarity.
A perfectly rolled version of this armor is highly prized in the melee PvP community due to its ability to reduce weapon damage.
Type-restricted upgrades
The upgrading process is an essential aspect of the crafting process. Upgrades can improve an item's stats or enhance its strength, or even provide an added benefit. They can also change the appearance of an item. Certain upgrades are universal, while others have specific rules for weapons and armor. Using the wrong type of upgrade can destroy a great weapon, and may even render it ineffective.
A general rule is that you can only upgrade a piece of equipment up to the level of the highest-level equipment in its category. You can only upgrade helms to the highest level. Weapons however can be upgraded to the level of a sword. This does not increase the weapon's output of damage, but can reduce the value of its trade.
To upgrade an item you must spend flightstones and crests. The amount of both depends on the item level and slot. Upgrades to swords, for example will require more flightstones than an upgrade to the cloth. You can also avail discounts on the amount of flightstones and crests needed to upgrade an item.
The upgrade of an item will fill up its diamond-shaped indicator. Each step increases the Tier level by one-third. The maximum Tier level is Tier 3. It may take different upgrades to reach this level, based on the item. It is essential to keep in mind that any procedure that may mount a disk shouldn't be run while upgrading. You must also ensure that the disk you are upgrading is not being used as an system drive.
Enchantment is a function that lets you transform white or Common items into rare or blue ones. It is possible to do this at Eleanor's enchantment shop located in the Capital District. This method does not add gem or rune slot to the equipment. However, it does change its dimensions. It makes the equipment larger by the size two categories smaller. For instance an example, the size of a Stormtrooper armor is Medium and a Blaster Pistol Small.
Universal upgrades
Universal upgrades are upgrades that can be made on any kind of equipment. This includes armor and weapons. It's similar to how resort upgrades work at Disney and Universal. In the case of WDW it is typically due to operational reasons like availability of rooms or the overbooking of rooms. In the case of Universal is involved, it may be to move guests to another resort that is open. This is not intended to be a sarcastic comment however, in the current economic climate, it may be impossible to avoid.
Unlike Runes, Sigils and Jewels that are only applicable to certain types of equipment (armor trinkets, weapons, or), universal upgrades can be applied to any gear. They can be used on multiple items at the same time. They are therefore more adaptable than any other upgrade type. However, this flexibility could cause problems when upgrading items in the specific gear path because it increases the level of each item in all pieces in that path.
Before you upgrade, it is important to stop PowerShell Universal and delete any existing application files. After that you can install the new files by using the Get-ChildItem-Recurse or Unblock-File commands. It is recommended to also run a basic validation against your PSU server to ensure that it functions correctly.
Jewels
Jewels can be added to weapons, armor or accessories. They offer varying stat bonuses and other effects depending on the gem and reagent that is used to make them. They are found in Golden Chests and Rift Incursions. They can be purchased from a Master craftsman for gold or Karma. Jewels can be made using a table for jewelry using 5 of the same type of reagent and 1 gem to make a jewel with a higher or lower tier. This is similar to upgrading a stone at the gemcrafting table.
Jewel Tiers are determined by the number of modifiers that they possess. Jewels of higher tiers are more modifiers than lower-tier jewels. The primary effect is determined by a jewel's tier. The secondary effect is random. Players can use luck potions in order to increase their chances of getting more beneficial secondary effects.
Like other upgrade components, jewels can be inserted into an item with a matching socket to enhance the item's. For instance Garnet Pebble (gemstone) and an Adorned Garnet Jewel (jewel) both offer a boost to strength, however the Garnet Pebble will only increase regular hits while the Garnet Jewel also boosts the player's powerful attacks. Jewels can be put in all armor, weapon and accessory slots. They can also be used with exotic trinkets or lower rarity trinkets that require slots.
Gems are a DM-specific mechanic that can help make items feel special to their owners. By offering a variety of upgrade options jewels let players alter their equipment to find the combination that best suits them. They can upgrade their equipment with new gems in the event that they feel the existing set is no longer appropriate.
Requirements
The WoW item upgrade system allows players to increase the level of their equipment, weapons, and trinkets from their current item level by using specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor resources. These upgrades increase the stats base of the item, and some even have special effects (such as Dolphin's Grace which allows players to experience dolphin-like grace while swimming). Players can obtain these upgrades at any upgrader NPC or by salvaging them from items containing them, with a variety of items dropping various upgrade components.
The process of upgrading may be a bit difficult however, it's not difficult. The player selects the item that he would like to upgrade and then clicks the Upgrade button. A window will pop up with the different upgrades available for this item. This window will display the upgrade level, the upgrade type bonus (such Tech Points or a Quality Chance) and the cost of upgrading. The upgrade level is displayed in a bar at the top of the screen. the upgrade type bonus is displayed below it.
The user will have to bring the item to the upgrader, who will then explain how to upgrade the item. The player will then need to provide the correct currency needed for the upgrade and may be asked to provide additional items should they require it. These requirements are based on the item's level of manufacture with weapons generally having stricter requirements than armor.
Many upgrade recipes contain an acceptable material list as well as the components required. This list lists the other upgrade components are available on the item, and includes a flag that indicates whether the item has a guaranteed boost or extra effect. This is crucial because the value of an upgrade can differ greatly based on its 'extras. For instance, perfectly rolled gear can be worth more than a non-upgraded model.
For the types of upgrades that require crests or valorstones, they will be displayed in a separate list beneath the main list. The amount of crests and valorstones required will depend on the level of the item. Upgrades to weapons require the most Valorstones.
